Beech AT-11
We were contracted to fabricate a complete turret and turret ring assembly for the Beech AT-11. This aircraft was originally an AT-11 built during WWII, but the aircraft was civilianized with all of the turret structure removed. We borrowed an original turret ring structure from the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, AZ and were able to copy and install it in our customers AT-11. After we completed the turret ring, we were able to fabricate the turret structure and install the turret.
Behind the Scenes
The Lundell's, the owners of this AT-11, struck up a deal with the Pima Museum in Tucson, Arizona to borrow the museum's turret structure. In return, a newly fabricated turret ring and plexiglass bubble were donated to the museum.
